1.ไม่ใช้ Article "a,an" หน้าคำนามจำนวนที่นับไม่ได้
Ex. " oil, food, popcorn, sugar, music, grass"
2. ไม่ใช้ Article หน้าคำนามพหูพจน์ที่กล่าวถึงทั่วๆไป
Ex. "Students should work hard."
"People enjoy watching television."
3. ไม่ใช้ Article หน้าคำนามต่อไปนี้ เมื่อใช้ในความหมายเพื่อกิจกรรมเฉพาะตัวของคำนามนั้นเอง
Ex. " hospital, prison, school, college, church, university "
Note : ถ้าใช้ Article "the" นำหน้า ความหมายย่อมแตกต่างไปจากความหมายเพื่อกิจกรรมเฉพาะตัวของคำนามนั้นเอง
Ex. " go to the school"
" go to the church"
4. ไม่ใช้ Article หน้า มื้ออาหาร
Ex. " breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper"
5. ไม่ใช้ Article กับ ชื่อทางภูมิศาสตร์
5.1 ชื่อเมืองหลวง ประเทศ รัฐ ทวีป
Ex. " Thailand, England, France, Asia"
5.2 ชื่อเกาะเดี่ยวๆ
Ex. " Phuket, Sicily, Corfu"
5.3 ชื่อภูเขาเดี่ยวๆ
Ex, " Mount Everes, Doi Inthanon"
5.4 ชื่อทะเลสาบ
Ex. " Lake Songkhla, Lake Michigan"
6. ไม่ใช้ Article กับชื่อสนามบิน สถานีรถไฟ โรงเรียน มหาวิทยาลัย ภัตตาคาร โรงแรมหรือสถานที่ที่เป็นชื่อเฉพาะ
Ex. "Siam square, London Zoo, Hyde Park, Oriental Hotel "
7. ไม่ใช้ Article กับชื่อถนน สี่แยก วงเวียน
Ex. " Phahonyoyhin Road, Luksi circle"
8. ไม่ใช้ Article กับคำนามที่ตามหลัง 's หรือคำนามที่แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ
Ex. " Mr. Carter's house"
" a week's holiday"
9. ไม่ใช้ Article เมื่อมีคำประเภทเหล่านี้อยู่หน้าคำนาม: คำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ, this/that/these/those,some/any,few/a few,most
Ex. " This flower looks very beautiful."
" Some students are absent."
" Most teachers in this school are women."
10. ไม่ใช้ Article กับเดือน- วัน นอกเสียจากว่าเดื่อน-วันนั้นๆ มีลักษณะชี้เฉพาะจะใช้ Article "the"
Ex. " He was married in December, 1997."
" He was married in the December of 1997."
11. ไม่ใช้ Article กับชื่อโรค
Ex. "mumps, cholera, rabies, AIDS, cancer"
12. ไม่ใช้ Article กับ "ชื่อเกมส์ กีฬา"
Ex. "Baseball, soccer,tennis"
13. ไม่ใช้ Article กับ "ชื่อวิชา ภาษา"
Ex. " English, Chinese, Spanish, biology, astronomy"
Note : คำนามที่เป็นชื่อภาษา ถ้านำไปใช้เป็นคำคุณศัพท์หน้าคำนาม ต้องมี Article "the" นำหน้า
Ex. " My son likes the French subject very much."
14. ไม่ใช้ Article กับสำนวนบางสำนวน
Ex. " by train, at work, start work, on time, by bus, on foot"
